Sometimes things just work out. Like finding fun and meaningful gifts for the #GoodeMail that match up with the partners without planning it. August isn’t maybe the typical gratitude month – we often think about that during November with Thanksgiving – however, gratitude is something we can have and practice every day.
Everyone practices gratitude differently – so there is no right or wrong way, in my opinion. The biggest thing is expressing it. Telling people that you are grateful for them, the friendship, the help, the advice. Absorbing the world, in the moment you are living in it, the sunset colors, the morning stars, a blue heron peaking out of the bushes, playing a new golf course, the beautiful hotel lobby, a clean bathroom at the gas station stop on a road trip.
Sometimes this is easier said than done. We have a full day of clients, families depending on us, and we are tired at the end of the day. Maybe it was a day that everything went wrong. Maybe it was a day that everything went right and you feel so happy that you want to keep that feeling going.
No matter what you day looks like, I hope you find something to be grateful for. And if it strikes your fancy, this about writing it down. Even something short such as “I’m grateful for the sun and blue skies today” to something longer like “What an incredible feeling giving my clients so much peace of mind for their future. They didn’t know they could retire early and live life on their terms. This is why I do what I do. Why I love what I do. Changing lives for the better. If I could bottle this feeling up and spray it like perfume, I would!”
A few other things I’m grateful for:
My friends and business owners that believed in me so much that they said YES to being a partner in the Goode Community
The Goode Community members that give so much energy to our mission of #GoodeCauses to support organizations and people
For being told that my gold sponsorship makes a world of difference
For friends giving me a drink when I go by their house on the golf course
For all the phone calls and conversations with my dad – he is always willing o stay up late and solve the world’s problems
For my mom being a leader – a strong woman that could do anything
For my sister believing that I’ll shoot par one day
For my grandma telling me she is proud of me
For my garden turning out beautiful – not doing a lot of research and planning – just wanting to put all the plants that I love around my house and seeing them grow and bloom is an incredible feeling.
I’m grateful for my new glasses and sunglasses arriving in time for my road trip
What are you grateful?
