Lela and I searched for six months for my current home. I had a list of must haves and things I would prefer to have. Knowing what I was looking for ahead of time made it very easy to make a decision when we looked at pictures online or showed up in person. It’s certainly a long journey and it wasn’t any easier with Covid – and it’s not easier with the lack of homes on the market. If you are looking to buy or sell, I would recommend getting in touch with a real estate agent sooner than later to start looking.
If you aren’t planning to move soon, think about how you feel about your home. Is it your sanctuary when you come home from work? Do you have a quiet place that you can read, scroll through social media posts, watch a show without interruption – even for a few minutes? Having a peaceful place that brings you back to center is so powerful.
As the sun starts to come back out and the weather is warming up, my favorite place to be is outside, sitting by the fireplace and looking at the mountains. Clear blue skies, cloud watching, and seeing the sun set with beautiful, vivid colors. My daffodils and tulips are growing throughout my backyard and they bring another level of happiness. They are the first flowers I have grown in six years or longer. I appreciate them so much more. My mom had flowers blooming all summer long and would make gorgeous flower arrangements from them – so it makes my home feel even homier, familiar.
